SGT has decided to speed up its transition to a circular model. This is coming to fruition with the creation of a recycled PET production unit at its Chalon-sur-Saône site (71) : the SGR company.

A high-quality rPET
The RPET produced by SGR enables SGT to respond to current market demands by assisting its customers with their own commitments to a circular and responsible economy. SGR’s RPET production has the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) approval for food contact. This means that thanks to its preform production SGT provides its customers with guaranteed supply and quality in the “bottle-to-bottle” principle.

A responsible investment
SGR has invested in a 7 million Euro decontamination line from the Bühler Polymetrix technology which has been recognised and validated by the food safety authorities. This recycling unit has an initial processing capacity of 12,000 tonnes per year and is directly supplying the preform production unit located at the same site, creating around ten jobs.

Give a second life to plastic bottles
With this new project which has the support of the ADEME and the Burgundy Franche Comté Region, SGT is making an active contribution to the collective objective of developing a fairer and more environmentally-friendly economy. It provides used bottles with a second life so that they are no longer seen as waste but as reusable resources.
